While he ponders this thought and totally by chance as so often inspirations
arrive, he meets an entomologist living a few miles from the studio. He
is entrusted with two boxes of butterflies and beetles , fascinated by
their splendour, he finds exactly what he is looking. Inspired by these
creations of nature Stephan once again seeks out the scientist wanting
to know a more about his work of hyperrealist painter. He learns
that Gerald has hunted for these creatures everywhere on earth since he
was a teenager and that even now, at the age of 45, he is still finding
new species.
Vietnam, recently opened to western countries, is his next destination.
It's enough for Stephan to get an irrepressible urge for new horizons.
It is with Grant that Stephan discovered the big night butterflies of
Mount Annam.
During those five weeks of expedition in the middle of the tropical forest,
Stephan Brunner gets the travel bug which has progressed to become a disease
for which he still found no remedy.
